What’s Hot In Aesthetics: Combination Treatments
The hottest trends in facial rejuvenation are combination treatments.
In the past, patients tend to go for just one type of treatment, for example, Intense Pulsed Light. Now, various treatments are combined to achieve the best results: Peeling, Botulinum and filler injections, Laser, Radiofrequency and Intense Pulsed Light. Each treatment tackles a different dimension of the rejuvenation. For example, Botulinum injections are good for wrinkles in motion. Filler injections are good for deeper lines and restoration of facial volume. Intense Pulsed Light and Peeling are good for brightening the superficial complexion. Laser and radiofrequency treatments are good for stimulating the patient’s own collagen production.
AesCure Medical & Aesthetic Clinic
I was invited to try AesCure Medical & Aesthetic Clinic’s combination treatment of HydraFacial™ and Forever Young BBL™. Resident doctor, Dr Malini, eloquently explained her background in Internal Medicine as well as her passion for women’s wellness issues and seeks to raise awareness on the viable alternatives of aesthetic technology, especially for individuals with ethnic skin tones. She also notes that patients these days seek fast treatments with no downtime, which explains the popularity of her combination packages – all of which can still be squeezed in during lunchtime, letting you return to the office with glowing skin.
Treatment process
After cleansing my face, my therapist started the HydraFacial™, which is a 4-in-1 technology combining cleansing and exfoliation, extraction, hydration and infusion of antioxidants. The latest machine uses Vortex Fusion technology which is clinically proven to be the most advanced and effective method to infuse serums into the skin. HydrafacialTM has now introduced a new serum that is fortified with melanin suppressing and skin firming ingredients best suited to treat skin with uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. During the process, you would feel a slight suction effect and sound.
After a few rounds of each step, which took about 20 minutes, my skin was prepped and ready for my Forever Young BBL™, done by Dr Malini. BBL therapy is an advanced version of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology and photofacial is a cosmetic treatment designed to treat redness, pigmented brown spots, sun damage, refine skin texture and stimulate collagen production all at once. A thick cold gel was applied all over my face and if you are new to IPL, the initial snaps and bright light might be uncomfortable at first. The good thing is, the entire procedure was over in 10 minutes.
As my sensitive skin tends to get red after procedures, an LED Red Light treatment was added to soothe my skin. It was my first time trying this and it felt like I was tanning at a really bright and sunny beach. To complete my skin pampering, I was treated to a cold oatmeal mask for sensitive skin. As a last step, eye cream, Vitamin C serum , a light gel-based moisturiser and sunblock was applied, and I left AesCure with smoother skin that looked brighter and more even-toned!
Cost: The combination treatment of HydraFacial™ + Forever Young BBL™ + LED Red is priced at $688 (a la carte price $878)
