BBL - Anti Aging Skin Care

What is Profile BBL broadband light?
BBL broadband light's innovative technology sets new standards for the treatment of skin
conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles and sun damage. Considered the ninth generation of
IPL, BBL allows your doctor to tailor your treatment to match your skin's
condition.
What will BBL treatment do?
BBL technology utilises the power of pulsed light to deliver results in photorejuvenation
therapy. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, your doctor will be able to treat a broad range
of skin conditions such as:
- Fine wrinkles
- Age spots
- Small facial veins
- Rosacea
- Redness and flushing
- Freckles
- Brown spots and birth marks
- Port wine stains
- Red spots
- Enlarged pores
- Poikiloderma
- Burn Erythema
- Hyperpigmentation
How does BBL work?
The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat
absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. This will help
restore your skin to its natural beauty, its natural colour and make it smoother, vibrant and younger
looking. In addition, the photothermal energy will target and eliminate fine vessels that cause redness and
the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.
What areas can be treated?
Any part of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those that are most exposed to
the damaging effects of sunlight. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of the hands,
chest and shoulders.
How many treatments will I need?
From 2 to 5 treatments, at 2-4 week intervals, will produce the desired results. You may benefit
from additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition.
How long will it take to recover?
This is a non-invasive and gentle procedure wit virtually no downtime. In most cases, you will
be able to return to work, apply make-up and resume most of your activities right away.
What should I expect after treatment?
You may experience some redness that should resolve in a few hours. For some pigmented lesions,
you will see a darkening of the treated area followed by flaking and fading off at a later stage. Your
treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticable, and sun spots or uneven
pigmentation will fade.
Results depend on your condition, the number of tratments and the area treated. Your doctor will
provide you with complete information about the post treatment care and results.
Will it be uncomfortable?
The procedure is gentle, non-invasive and safe, There should be minimal or no discomfort,
however, this varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of the treatment. There is no need for
a topical anesthesia, however, your doctor may choose to use one on more sensitive areas.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a rubber band
snap or a warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few
minutes or half an hour depending on the size of area treated or type of procedure performed.
What after-care do I need?
It is important to follow your doctor's instructions. You may be given some skin care products
and instructions on how to use them. These will minimise your risk of inflammation or redness and ensure the
shortest healing time. You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and must avoid direct sun exposure until
fully healed. Cover your skin or use a good sunblock whenever you go outdoors.
