REVIEW: Face Dr Skin Rejuvenation
The Face Dr machine looks like a telephone Sonophorosis is a Greek word that means “moving materials through sonic wave” - an apt description for the Face Dr machine which uses ultrasonic waves to create a passage from the epidermis (top layer of skin) to the dermis (deeper layer) to allow penetration of products to be 30 to 40 times higher.
Eew, pores alert! The Face Dr works in four ways. The first is ultrasonic deep cleansing, then ultrasonic scaling of dead cells, followed by Vitamin C infusion. The last step is galvanic lifting for younger, firmer skin. The special pure Vitamin C capsules used has also been specially developed to penetrate 10 times better than normal Vitamin C. When ionized Vitamin C is directly supplied to the skin, it inhibits and stops the formation of freckles, pigments and melasma.
Treatment process:
Not sure why I'm smiling but treatment feels soothing After cleansing my face, the therapist made me hold a metal rod to enable the electricity from the Face Dr to be conducted to my face. Using a handpiece that looks like a metal scraper, she gently scraped my face starting from the forehead down to my cheeks and nose. The process felt very soothing and my fear of being electrocuted was put to rest. This procedure is good for removing debris and shallow blackheads. “Sometimes, we can even see the comedones popping out,” says Dr Cindy Yang, aesthetics doctor at Neuglow. After deep cleansing, my therapist performed the scaling which feels very much like the first step. For the infusion bit, the metal scraper is sheathed with a cotton cover soaked in Vitamin C then applied all over my face in the same motion. Lastly, my therapist used a higher ultrasonic energy to perform the lifting part of my treatment. Results:
Skin looks radiant - no make-up or touch up, I swear!
